Special Recognition for International Graduate Students with English as a Foreign Language

The Graduate Student Senate of Arts & Sciences (GSS) and the Graduate Professional Council (GPC), and the Association of Graduate Engineering Students (AGES) together with the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences are pleased to announce a special addition to the Call for Abstracts for the 17th Annual Graduate Research Symposium, taking place Saturday February 18th, 2012 from 12 pm to 4 pm in the Laboratory Sciences Building.

The year's symposium will include a Special Recognition for International Students with English as a Second Language, sponsored by the Graduate Professional Council (GPC) and proposed and facilitated by the International graduate student association for Career development And Networking (I-CAN).

The purpose of the Special Recognition Award for International Students with English as a Second Language is to encourage and recognize international students to orally present their research to non-specialists from diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility for the Special Recognition for International Students with English as a Second Language:

  • Speak English as a Foreign Language
  • Identify as an international student (exchange or degree-seeking)
